The Department of Infectious Diseases at Skåne University Hospital (SUS) consists of approximately 330 employees and provides specialized care for infectious diseases and immunodeficiency. The operation has one department in Lund and two in Malmö. We have a clinic, needle exchange program, and administration, and conduct extensive consultation services at SUS and within the region. The department has broad contact points with other operations at the hospital, as well as with other actors in healthcare such as Infection Control Skåne, healthcare hygiene, and clinical microbiology, as well as universities and colleges. 1 position(s). WORK ASSIGNMENTS We are now welcoming a nurse to our infectious disease clinic with an assignment in the Needle Exchange Program for a temporary position that extends over one year. The two main purposes of the needle exchange program in accordance with the needle exchange act are to prevent blood-borne infections and to curatively work toward freedom from drugs. You work in a team together with doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, a social worker, and a midwife. The main work assignments are the management of infections in the target group. Job Description We at the infectious disease clinic's care ward, D97 in Linköping, are looking for someone who enjoys challenges and varied work. Here you will meet many different types of patients, both with different medical conditions and from different cultures. You will join a ward where you get to learn a lot and gain broad expertise. The ward accepts patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and most of our patients come via the emergency department. Our most common diseases are sepsis, influenza, endocarditis, encephalitis, gastrointestinal diseases, tuberculosis, and COVID. We work in teams with nursing assistants and doctors, and to some extent paramedics. The team is responsible for the patient's basic and specific care as well as medical needs, such as tracheostomy care. We have approximately 17 care beds divided into three care teams. One of the care teams provides more advanced medical care, and there is also the opportunity to visually and technically monitor the patient. Because we have almost exclusively acute admissions, the work can vary from very busy to quieter days. We care about you having balance between work and private life, and you therefore have the opportunity to request your schedule preferences. We try to create a customized introduction so you feel safe and comfortable in your work.
