During the day you will assist and support him at his job. You are calm, present, with a sense of humor, and understand that you will sometimes need to stay in the background. His disability means you will be his arms and legs in various situations, but he leads and plans his assistance himself. As his assistant you will help with personal care, mobility, household tasks, and other activities. The position is with a man in his 60s who has MS and uses a wheelchair. Your responsibilities will be to assist with everything that comes up in daily life. The work includes helping with basic everyday needs and occasionally accompanying the client to various activities/family gatherings. His main interests are hockey, football, and harness racing, but also films/series. If you share any interests with him, that's a positive, but absolutely not a requirement. You don't need any prior experience to work for him as he provides on-site supervision and has a team of good assistants available. Schedules/shifts are always between 6:45-14:15, 13:45-21:15, and nights 20:45-07:15 on both weekdays and weekends.
