The Reception Unit's main mission is to serve as a common entry point for the Social Board's exercise of authority regarding individual and family care. You can turn to us if you need help in a socially difficult situation, are concerned about someone in your vicinity, or want advice on matters. The Reception Unit is responsible for receiving, processing, and carefully assessing new reports and applications. When further investigation and support are needed, decisions are made to initiate investigations, which are forwarded to investigation units. When necessary, the unit is also responsible for acute protective measures in collaboration with internal and external partners. We are currently approximately 20 employees working at the unit, distributed among a unit manager, senior social secretary, specialist case handlers, social secretaries, and administrators. We are an experienced and dedicated work group where we support each other in our daily work, share our knowledge, and help one another. As a social secretary at the unit, you will meet people of all ages, and your main task will be to assess whether an investigation should be initiated or not. The Reception Unit is typically the entry point for those coming into contact with social services. We ensure that this contact is as positive as possible for the person seeking assistance, regardless of the reason for their contact with us. The pace is often high and the tasks are varied. The work is mainly conducted based on the legislation Social Services Act (SoL), the Act with Special Provisions on Care of Young People (LVU), and the Act on Care of Substance Abusers in Certain Cases (LVM). Your work tasks include: • Receiving concern reports and applications. • Preliminarily assessing received concern reports and taking action to protect in acute situations. • Handling requests for statements according to the Act on Young Offenders (LuL), as well as requests for statements in driver's license matters from the Swedish Transport Agency. • Being a consultative ambassador for the Social Board by providing information, guidance, and advice to collaboration partners and individuals. As a new employee, you will be offered an introduction, together with a mentor, which is adapted based on your previous experience. The introduction is part of the social services' competence and authority ladder, which also includes the Professional Journey. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and at least two years of experience in the exercise of authority according to SoL and LVU/LVM, a Class B driver's license, and driving experience. You have good documentation skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. It is a merit if you have experience with concern reports and preliminary assessments.
