As a counselor with us, you will work to provide our participants with support in various ways. This may include individual support regarding factors that affect their ability to succeed in their studies. It can also involve working with our participants in smaller groups or facilitating workshops for entire classes. Many participants have had negative experiences from previous studies and other challenges in life. Some have neuropsychiatric conditions or life situations that negatively impact their studies. As a counselor, you will work proactively to support participants and monitor their development. In some cases, it may be appropriate to assist participants in contacting authorities to access the support they are entitled to. We have good relationships with Skärholmen's social services, who are also regularly present at our location and provide information about available assistance and support. You need to have a strong commitment to people and their diversity. You meet those in need of support with engagement, respect, understanding, and build trust. Previous experience working at a folk high school is a merit. You will be part of the school's participant health team and also to some extent serve as a sounding board for the school's teachers in their socioeducational work. About the School Red Cross Folk High School is part of the Swedish Red Cross. The school is located in Skärholmen to address the educational needs that exist primarily locally. We educate approximately 170 participants per year. Through our folk high school activities, we contribute to the Swedish Red Cross's vision of a compassionate Sweden in a sustainable world.
