Trainee Nurse to Intermediate Care Unit
The Intermediate Care Unit (IMA) is a relatively new care unit, which means we are still developing the unit together. It is a 24-hour operation and patients come to us from throughout the hospital. Patients cared for at IMA require a higher level of care than on a regular ward, but not as advanced as in intensive care. At IMA we have five care beds divided into two care teams, and the average length of stay is approximately 1-2 days. Your Workplace Close Care Unit 95 currently has 14 care beds and we provide 24-hour care primarily for elderly patients with multiple conditions in our local area. We offer care in areas including medicine, orthopedics, surgery, and palliative care. This provides comprehensive patient care. The unit also receives day patients for services such as blood transfusions or other infusions during the day. We have developed a concept for our patients who often need care and can come directly to the unit for direct admission, so-called Näva-patients. We work in teams around the patient and also have the Close Care Team connected to the unit for direct admissions. The workplace has an attractive work environment and pleasant colleagues. On the infectious disease and pulmonary medicine ward, we care for patients with conditions such as pneumonia, sepsis, wound infections, endocarditis, lung cancer, and COPD. We also care for patients with compromised immune systems or patients requiring isolation due to infectious diseases such as tuberculosis.
