Your Responsibilities As a nurse at our eye clinic, you will enjoy varied and engaging work. In our operating room, you will assist physicians during various procedures, including cataract surgeries, and be responsible for instrument handling, equipment management, and maintaining sterility. Outpatient duties include preparing patients for physician visits with various examinations. You will conduct independent clinics, for example, fundus photography and visual field testing. A significant portion of our patients suffer from age-related macular degeneration. These conditions are treated with intravitreal injections, which our nurses perform after appropriate training. The ward currently has 17 patient beds on weekdays and 12 beds on weekends. With us, you will have varied work where you combine nursing care with some acute care that may arise in connection with treatments. The ward has close collaboration with other wards/clinics within our operational area. Endocrine Oncology is a ward within the hematology and oncology operational area located in the 100 building. Some of the most common oncological endocrinological diagnoses are neuroendocrine tumors (NET), neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC), and thyroid cancer. These are treated with targeted radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy/immunotherapy. The most common oncological diagnosis with us is lymphoma, where our specialty is CAR-T treatment – a treatment where the patient's own T-cells are genetically modified to attack cancer. With us, you will work with medical technology including central and peripheral infusions, chemotherapy, and immunotherapies. We work in diagnostic teams, the teams consist of clinic personnel, doctors and administrators. The clinic personnel consists of approximately 25 people but you also work in close collaboration with other staff at the clinic.
