Eye Clinic at Kullbergska Hospital, Katrineholm About Us Region Sörmland's Eye Clinic is a regional clinic with outpatient services at hospitals throughout Sörmland: Kullbergska Hospital in Katrineholm, Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna, and Nyköping Hospital in Nyköping. We see approximately 60,000 patients annually. We perform cataract surgeries, outpatient procedures, and strabismus surgeries. We have a clinic for treating macular diseases and numerous other outpatient services for various diagnoses. We are expanding and now seeking an Ophthalmic Nurse/Registered Nurse for the Eye Clinic at Kullbergska Hospital. You will work in newly renovated facilities with modern equipment, alongside various professionals in a small yet busy clinic. We have our own operating room and injection suite where we perform cataract surgeries, outpatient procedures, and injections. At our clinic, nurses administer the injections. Your Responsibilities As a nurse at our eye clinic, you will enjoy varied and engaging work. In our operating room, you will assist physicians during various procedures, including cataract surgeries, and be responsible for instrument handling, equipment management, and maintaining sterility. Outpatient duties include preparing patients for physician visits with various examinations. You will conduct independent clinics, for example, fundus photography and visual field testing. A significant portion of our patients suffer from age-related macular degeneration. These conditions are treated with intravitreal injections, which our nurses perform after appropriate training. We are a small team, which means you will work at the full scope of your competence and teamwork is truly collaborative. Flexibility and strong consultation skills are qualities we seek in you. Your Qualifications You are a licensed registered nurse in healthcare, an ophthalmic nurse, or an operating room nurse, ideally with several years of experience. You are attentive, accustomed to taking responsibility, have excellent ability to collaborate within and across professions, and maintain a positive attitude toward your work.
