The 1st Cyber Defense Battalion (1.CFF) is part of the Swedish Armed Forces' armed combat capability in the cyber domain. We defend the Armed Forces' command and control systems through both proactive operations and reactive handling of IT security incidents. Our dimensioned adversaries have substantial resources and high competence, which places high demands on us to protect these systems. As the battalion's operations involve handling active missions, you will be an important player in defending Sweden and strengthening our collective cyber domain capability. Cyber Defense is expanding and now seeks department and section chiefs to Enköping. Key Responsibilities As an officer with us at 1.CFF, you will work with personnel management and development at either the department or section level. You will be a key person in our operational capability, where you will work with planning, development, and follow-up of both operational organizations and wartime units. At the battalion, we have several sections within our Cyber Defense Department that conduct proactive operations in the Armed Forces' systems. Operations range from mapping and coordination to gain good knowledge of the systems, to intelligence-driven hunting for adversaries and our own attacks to evaluate the protection and defense capabilities of the systems. Your main responsibilities will be to: Lead the department or section in the execution of operations and ongoing activities, and serve as an operator. Drive the development of the section's various functional areas, which also includes influencing external factors within the Armed Forces. Work to establish necessary interfaces within and outside the battalion and the Armed Forces. Together with other department leadership, develop the Swedish Armed Forces' cyber defense capability. About the Role We are looking for someone at the beginning of your career. You will become part of Electrical System with responsibility for generators and generator protection. Here you work closely with both electrical power design engineers, mechanical design engineers and project managers to ensure that gas turbine systems have the right conditions to deliver at the highest level. Work is done in project form where you are part of a group of six electrical power engineers, which in turn is part of a larger department of about 20 people. A project typically spans 14 months, which gives you time to follow the entire chain – from design and procurement to installation, commissioning and handover to the aftermarket. You work based on established templates and processes, but with great scope for customer customization and technical responsibility.
