Social Worker for Youth Services in the Welfare and Care Sector
Do you want to work in a city where ideas quickly become reality and where you see the results of your work? In Sundbyberg, there is a close connection between people, decisions, and opportunities. Here you get to have real influence while developing and growing in your role. In the Youth Services unit, we are constantly working to improve and develop our operations. We currently have a well-staffed and stable organization for our statutory responsibilities with young people. What is particularly important to us is a systemic approach focused on supporting families and networks, as well as ensuring each child's best interests based on their context. In recent years, we have developed our open care services and now offer our families qualified and comprehensive support. The Youth Services unit is part of the Authority Division within the Welfare and Care Sector. The unit has committed and skilled employees who work together in their daily work. The unit consists of three investigation groups with approximately seven social workers in each group, one of whom is a senior social worker. The unit also has an SSPF coordinator. One of the investigation groups focuses on young people with norm-breaking behavior and young people at risk of relapse into crime. We are now seeking an investigating social worker for one of the other groups. Each group has a group leader who manages and distributes the work. The target group is children/young people aged 13-20 years and their families/networks. We work with investigations and follow-ups of interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL), the Act with Special Provisions on the Care of Young People (LVU), and the Act on the Placement of Children in Protected Housing. Our focus is to conduct good social work. For us in the Youth Services unit, this means creating investigation processes that are conducive to families' change work. When interventions are needed, we offer support and treatment at home as much as possible. We are now seeking you, someone who wants to take on the challenge of working as a social worker with our children/young people and participating in our development work. Your work tasks include investigating, assessing, making decisions, and following up interventions according to current legislation. The work involves conversations and cooperation with children/young people, their families, and other external actors such as health care, schools, and police. You will also work in close cooperation with colleagues within the division and sector. Current legislation and regulations in the field guide your work. You will also participate in the organization's quality and development work. We want you to be educated as a social worker and have experience with statutory authority work in the child and youth field. We want you to have training and experience working according to BBiC, and it is desirable that you have worked in the Pulsen Combine business system. You are responsible and have good collaborative skills. We place great importance on your personal qualities and personal maturity. You need to be responsive, and in stressful situations it is important that you have the ability to maintain a professional manner and approach. You are structured and enjoy seeking information to answer different questions. It is also important that you have an interest in learning more and developing within the field. Since documentation is an important part of the work, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language as well as good administrative skills. We offer you a creative workplace with opportunities for professional development. Your introduction program is followed up by the division's development leader and includes relevant training for your assignment. In addition to support from the unit's group leader, you will receive support in your daily work from the unit's senior social worker. You will also receive external supervision. Sundbyberg Municipality offers wellness subsidies and the opportunity to exchange vacation pay supplements for additional days off. We are located in an activity-based office landscape in modern premises in Sundbyberg Town Hall in Hallonbergen. The position is a permanent full-time employment. Start date by agreement. A probationary period may be applied. Apply by August 28, 2026. The selection process will be ongoing throughout the application period. We do not accept applications via email.
