We work with investigations and follow-up of interventions according to the Social Services Act and the Care of Young Persons (Special Provisions) Act, and we follow the structure of the Balanced and Restorative Practice model. Our target group is youth aged 13-20 (with the exception of our intake team which works with children and youth 0-20), their families, and networks. The placement team consists of seven social secretaries, one team leader, one contract secretary, and two crime coordinators. About the Role As a social secretary on the team, your task is to follow youth placed in residential care facilities, secure care units, treatment families, or supported housing according to the Social Services Act or the Care of Young Persons (Special Provisions) Act. You are expected to build relationships and collaborative alliances with your youth and, where applicable, guardians, to ensure that youth receive good care and, as much as possible, to meet youth and parents halfway. We place great importance on regularly meeting our youth, which means we travel frequently as part of our work. We have close collaboration within the team and high engagement with our target group. We have regular supervision and strive to maintain a humble approach, both within the team and with our youth and families. Your Profile You are an experienced social secretary within the field of children and youth, preferably with prior experience working with placed youth. You enjoy following youth through treatment processes closely and over time; you never lose hope and stand firm when things get tough. You have good knowledge of legislation in our field, you can prioritize and make independent assessments but do not hesitate to consult colleagues. You have good collaboration skills and an approach characterized by respect and commitment. You also need to have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. This is a role that gives back tremendously but also sometimes takes a toll on your energy. You need to have an inner acceptance that you cannot always do everything and a belief that small steps will pay off in the long run.
