The projects examine the connections between global environmental changes and local changes in species communities, microclimate and greenhouse gas emissions. Data collection for the projects is largely done in the field and through laboratory experiments and analyses. Duties We are now seeking a researcher to analyze, compile and evaluate a comprehensive metagenomic dataset regarding methane uptake in arctic tundra ecosystems. The work will include compilation and processing of genomic data together with methane flows and site-related metadata from several arctic locations, as well as writing scientific publications. Laboratory work will be performed at our facilities in Natrium in Gothenburg and will include, among other things, DNA extraction from problematic soils, next-generation sequencing, q/PCR, bioinformatics, but may also include gas chromatography, carbon and nitrogen analyses and water analyses.
