Research Assistant
The Department of Surgical Sciences (IKV) is part of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences Domain at Uppsala University and has approximately 160 employees and around 230 registered doctoral students, many of whom are clinically active physicians and nurses. The department conducts research and education at undergraduate, advanced, and research levels. Research is conducted in research groups organized primarily around surgical specialties and related medical disciplines. Teaching takes place within medical, nursing, radiography, and specialist nursing programs. The department also houses a number of research infrastructures. PET (positron emission tomography) is a medical imaging technique that uses molecules labeled with radioactive isotopes, known as tracers. PET is a quantitative technique, meaning that not only can images of the tracer distribution in the body be obtained, but absolute concentrations can also be measured. By measuring concentration changes over time, using tracer kinetics, biological processes such as blood flow, glucose consumption, and receptor availability can be measured. PET is a multidisciplinary activity present both at the Academic Hospital (PET Centre and Department of Nuclear Medicine) and at Uppsala University (preclinical PET platform). Physicians, chemists, physicists, radiographers, and biomedical analysts work together to perform clinical diagnostic imaging and clinical research studies, as well as to develop new tracers and methods for studying various processes in the body and improving diagnostic imaging. Your Tasks We are seeking CNC operators and setup technicians for our customers in the Highlands region.
