Base Command School The Base Command School (BBS) is the Air Force's competence developer for personnel, particularly commanders and managers in leading positions within the air base system. BBS is also responsible for functional and specialized training for personnel within the Air Force's air base units and at military airfields. BBS also conducts personnel and competence follow-up within the air base system and participates in the development of air combat forces. BBS is primarily located in Uppsala and Halmstad. Leadership for BBS is located in Uppsala. The Airfield Operations Department is located in Halmstad garrison. BBS is organizationally subordinate to the Air Force School (LSS). The position at the Airfield Operations Department offers The Base Command School is now seeking a new Deputy Chief for the Airfield Operations Department. The Deputy Chief for the Airfield Operations Department is part of the department's management group. As part of the management group, you will participate in the department's development. The position involves some travel within the country as the Base Command School and Air Force are located in several different places where training is conducted. The position requires a high degree of independence but also involves extensive collaboration within and between the Base Command School's various departments. At the Base Command School, both the physical and psychological work environment are high priorities, which we strive to maintain through a positive and equal work environment alongside our high priority on physical training as expected of Swedish Armed Forces professional officers. Main responsibilities As Deputy Department Chief, you will support the Airfield Operations Chief with personnel responsibility (CPA), where you together with the department chief are responsible for the department's work, including planning, implementation, evaluation, work environment, and the department's personnel services, among others. The department's tasks consist of training officers at various levels in rescue, clearance, repair, and specialized courses with a focus on airfield operations. The Deputy Chief of the Airfield Operations Department also participates in the work of the Base Command School's development, which aims to meet growth requirements within the Air Force's air base organization.
