Investigations, analyses and teamwork As an insurance investigator, you handle applications for assistance benefits. In this job, you meet people who, due to illness or disability, may need help meeting their basic needs. You conduct qualified investigations and analyses of documentation, particularly medical reports, and assess whether the individual is entitled to compensation for personal assistance in production-managed activities. You then present a recommendation for a decision, which is made by specially appointed decision-makers. As an insurance investigator, you meet the person in personal meetings, usually by phone, Skype and correspondence, but also during home visits. You are responsible for contacts and collaboration with other parties, such as the municipality, personal representatives and health and medical care. The work tasks are largely administrative, including ongoing documentation and calculations of the number of assistance hours. You work as part of a team that plans and distributes the work. You actively work on developing your knowledge and sharing your experiences. As a new employee, you receive a thorough introduction training and support from a supervisor. As an insurance investigator, you handle confidential information, which places higher demands on proper handling. Therefore, it is important that you have a high level of security awareness.
