This project focuses on understanding how the bacterium establishes and preserves its intracellular environment and how it drives disease processes through sustained impacts on host cell biology. Responsibilities include: · Planning and conducting experiments · Data analysis and manuscript preparation · Presentation of results internally and externally · Collaboration with other researchers · Mentoring of junior colleagues in the research group Qualifications To be employed under a fixed-term postdoctoral appointment, you must hold a PhD or equivalent foreign degree in molecular biology, cell biology, infection biology, or a related field. This requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made. For postdoctoral appointments, preference will be given to those who obtained their PhD within the last three years. Exceptions may be considered for compelling reasons, including illness, parental leave, service in union leadership roles, military service, or similar circumstances, as well as clinical work or relevant professional service relevant to the field. Applicants should have research experience in Chlamydia-host cell interactions, including practical experience with human cell cultures, conducting infection experiments with C. trachomatis in cell culture, genetic manipulation of C. trachomatis and human cell lines, and using molecular genetic, microscopic, and cell biological methods to analyze intracellular host-pathogen interactions. Applicants should also have some experience working with omics data. Prior experience with proximity labeling-based proteomics is advantageous. You should demonstrate a strong interest in scientific research and motivation to address complex research questions. We seek someone with clear commitment to high-quality research and the ability to independently plan, develop, and drive research projects. Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written, are required.
