Department of Urban and Rural Development Doctoral Subject: Agrarian History Description of the PhD Project: A key question in historical research is how people in pre-industrial societies gained access to food. During the early modern period, the majority of all food in Europe consisted of grain, transformed into bread, beer, and porridge. This was the most important human energy source, and the vast majority of Europe's population therefore worked to produce, transport, and process grain. The courses include agrarian history courses at SLU, but there is also the opportunity to take courses at other institutions. Departmental duties, such as teaching, may be included in the position upon agreement, but not exceeding 20% of working time, with the right to a corresponding extension of the position. Qualifications: Basic eligibility is held by those who have completed a degree at advanced level, fulfilled course requirements of at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits at advanced level, or who have acquired equivalent knowledge in another way within or outside the country (Swedish Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 7 § 39). For this particular position, it is required as a special qualification that your degree/studies have been in history, economic history, or a closely related discipline. Investigator, Pharmacometrics / Pharmacokinetics

Our Operations The Authorizations operational area works in several ways to ensure that appropriate medicines reach patients. Approval of new medicines and new indications, as well as safety monitoring of approved products, is a central part. Advice regarding medicine development and information about medicines are other important parts. The operational area has approximately 370 employees and is divided into several units, where the Effect and Safety unit evaluates documentation concerning medicine efficacy and safety. The investigations and recommendations made form the basis for decisions on whether a medicine should be approved for clinical use. We collaborate with other EU member states in the investigation work and actively contribute to committees and working groups within the European Medicines Agency (EMA). We now need to recruit an additional staff member to the kinetics group at the Effect and Safety unit. The kinetics group of approximately 15 people works with the parts of cases related to clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacometrics. Your Tasks In your role as investigator, you will combine independent work with close collaboration with other pharmacokinetics investigators/pharmacometricians and pharmaceutical, preclinical, and clinical expertise in an interdisciplinary environment. You will primarily work with evaluating clinical pharmacokinetic documentation such as population (popPK) or physiologically-based (PBPK) pharmacokinetic modeling, exposure-response relationships, and ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) and drug interactions in medicine documentation in various procedures. An important part of the work is to concisely describe and justify conclusions in a written report in English and also communicate your conclusions to other investigators at the Swedish Medical Products Agency. Since we collaborate with other European medicines authorities in approval matters, you will also evaluate conclusions in reports from other countries. As an investigator in pharmacometrics/pharmacokinetics, you will also contribute your expertise in scientific consultations.
