Project Description: The project aims to increase understanding of how running shoes with so-called Advanced Footwear Technology (AFT, or "super shoes") affect the runner's performance and injury mechanisms at the individual level. Using advanced biomechanical methods, the shoe's effect on the dynamic function of the foot and lower extremity during running will be calculated and possibilities for individual shoe customization will be explored.
