GIH hereby announces a doctoral position in the subject of sport science within the field of running biomechanics. Project Description: The project aims to increase understanding of how running shoes with so-called Advanced Footwear Technology (AFT, or "super shoes") affect the runner's performance and injury mechanisms at the individual level. Using advanced biomechanical methods, the shoe's effect on the dynamic function of the foot and lower extremity during running will be calculated and possibilities for individual shoe customization will be explored. Eligibility for Doctoral Level Education To be admitted to doctoral level education in sport science, the applicant must have: completed a degree at the advanced level, fulfilled course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 higher education credits at the advanced level, or in some other way within or outside the country acquired equivalent knowledge the ability otherwise needed to complete the education.
