Support Educator/Support Assistant for Short-Term Residential Care and Supervision of Children, Youth, and Young Adults

JOB DUTIES For our short-term residential care and supervision facility according to the Swedish Disability Act (LSS) at Ekelund, we are now seeking a new colleague as one of our colleagues is changing positions within our operations! At Ekelund, there is a floor for children and youth where we provide short-term residential care and supervision for individuals with intellectual disabilities. On the second floor, we provide short-term residential care for young adults who are being prepared to move away from home. Work on both floors may occur, but with the greatest focus on the floor for children and youth. Ekelund is very centrally located, and we take advantage of our proximity to the swimming pool, youth center, library, ice rink, football fields, and playgrounds. As a support assistant, you will provide support, service, and care, as well as planned interventions and activities in consultation with the user and their guardian. This includes: - Statutory and professional responsibility for determining support measures according to the LSS. - Responsibility for ensuring that, together with the user, an implementation plan is established. - Ensuring that the measures outlined in the implementation plan are planned, executed, evaluated, and developed. - Responsibility for social documentation related to the assignment. - Collaboration with the user's network and other partners, as well as other staff. As a support educator, you are also expected to develop methods for the operations and provide coaching to colleagues. Support measures should be based on the user's individual needs and promote independence and participation. Support should be provided with respect for the user's integrity and self-determination. We apply a low-arousal approach and work according to clarifying pedagogy. The work involves irregular hours on weekdays/weekends and on-call duty. Solo work occurs. QUALIFICATIONS Care program with specialization in disability, Children and leisure program with a focus on social work or educational work, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. Other merits: Certified support educator, trained leisure educator, youth leader, or other pedagogical education. You should have good basic IT skills. Experience working with a low-arousal approach and according to clarifying pedagogy. A driver's license is required for the position. We place great emphasis on your previous experience working with individuals with disabilities under the LSS. You should have a very good sense of service and enjoy meeting people. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills but can also work independently, a positive attitude, and good interpersonal skills. You have good communication skills in both speech and writing and have an ability to build good relationships. We value flexibility and commitment highly. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are looking for an employee for the Industrigatans group home. The accommodation consists of five apartments for residents and the staff consists of six employees. As an employee at a group home, you work irregular hours, which means you work during the day as well as nights, evenings, and every other weekend. Solo work may occur. As staff at the group home, you will have an important role in the residents' lives. Within the operation, you work with providing care and support in daily living, so that residents have it as well as possible based on their individual circumstances. You are responsible for ensuring that residents feel safe and that residents' social, mental, and physical needs are met. You should work to ensure that residents participate in everyday tasks and take part in social contexts. You will collaborate with residents' family members, guardians, healthcare teams, and others. Within the group home, you work with low-arousal approaches and clarifying pedagogy, such as pictures, signs as support, schedules, etc. You also work with social documentation and implementation plans that are drawn up according to the resident's needs. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have the ability to promote equality in living conditions and full participation in community life for residents. The goal should be for residents to have the opportunity to live like others. When measures concern residents, you must always consider their best interests. You are trained in childhood and leisure activities or as a care assistant with a focus on disability support, leisure leader, support pedagogue, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. A driver's license is a requirement. We want you to have experience working with people with disabilities. You should have the ability to organize and structure. The work requires qualities such as flexibility, good initiative, ability to cooperate, and ability to see the whole picture. Knowledge and practice using computers as a working tool. The work requires good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Employment form: Permanent employment.
