Individual and Family Care (IFO) is divided into two operational areas, IFO Children and Family and IFO Adults, under the leadership of a joint IFO manager. One of the overall goals within the organization is that children and young people, to the extent possible, should be given the opportunity to live and grow up together with their family, or alternatively be reunited with their origin in another way. The organization's approach is based on systems theory with the best interests of the child in focus, where we strive to find alternative solutions in close cooperation with families and their networks. However, the organization has an explicit responsibility for support and protection of children and young people who need protection for shorter or longer periods and may need to be placed outside their own home. As the current manager moves on to another management position with us at IFO, we are now seeking a unit manager for IFO Children and Family's foster care team (FHT) with responsibility for children and young people who are placed in foster care for shorter or longer periods. The position is also manager of family law, which also includes Emmaboda Municipality's catchment area. Are you passionate about social services' individual and family care with the mission to follow the intentions of the new Social Services Act with the goal of offering easily accessible, preventive and early intervention, and evidence-based services in the home area? JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a unit manager, you lead the work in your two work groups and become a key person to work together with employees and management colleagues to create sustainable structures and develop methods and ways of working that make a difference for those we serve. The foster care team is responsible for the care of placed children, support for their families of origin and foster families, as well as recruitment and training of foster families. The team includes case workers, family therapists, and foster family recruiters. Family Law's mission is to handle matters concerning custody, residence and visitation, paternity investigations, collaboration meetings, and cooperation with courts in a legally secure manner. In your role as unit manager, you have budget, personnel, and work environment responsibility for eight employees in the foster care team and three employees in family law, where you lead and distribute work within each work group. You report directly to the operations manager and are part of the organization's management group with the other unit managers, senior social secretaries, and quality development specialists, where you are expected to actively contribute with knowledge, humility, perspective, and good spirit. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a social worker or have an equivalent education as assessed by the employer that meets the competency requirements for public administration in the field of children and youth according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations and general guidance HSLF-FS 2017:79. We hope that you have several years of experience in public administration within children and youth, as well as experience of regulations within family law. Previous management experience is a merit. Interviews and selection may take place continuously during the recruitment process. Great weight is given to personal suitability.
