Program Description Student health services should be viewed as an area of activity that includes medical, psychological, psychosocial, and special education interventions and is part of the school's educational mission and the overall work for good health. The promoting and preventive work should be emphasized and conducted with a salutogenic and inclusive approach. We currently have 5 school counselors working at all of the municipality's primary schools and Lapplands Gymnasium. In Gällivare municipality, there are a total of 9 primary schools both in the central location and throughout our villages in the countryside. Within Gällivare municipality's primary schools, in addition to qualified teachers, there are also lead teachers, special educators, special teachers, counselor, school nurse, class mentors, student assistants/resource staff. In grades 1–6, there are also class mentors at our schools, and in the town center there are school caretakers in grades 7–9. Duties You will be part of the central student health services in the municipality. Your colleagues in student health services are other school counselors, school nurses, school physicians, special educators, school psychologists, and an administrator. Close and developmental collaboration within the central student health services is an important and fundamental part of the work. You will be placed at one of the municipality's schools. There you work together with the school nurse and with support from colleagues at other schools. The work requires that you are independent and can make sound decisions in difficult matters. Work as a school counselor is varied and involves student conversations, supervision, consultation, training initiatives, crisis work, social investigations, development of action plans, and support for students, parents, educators, and principals. We have started working with social health conversations at schools. You will work with Myranskolan and Mariaskolan and assist other counselors in their areas. You are part of the school's local student health team at Myran and Mariaskolan. Furthermore, you collaborate with external stakeholders such as social services, child and adolescent psychiatry, and child rehabilitation. Qualifications Degree in social work. In this varied role, you will work with operations, maintenance, and renovations of our buildings and facilities, both above and below ground. You will be an important part of a supportive team that together ensures our premises and environments are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Here you will work with everything from preventive facility maintenance and simple construction and painting work to grounds care, snow and ice removal, and emergency repairs when needed. What You Bring The role offers considerable scope for independence where you contribute directly to a safe and well-functioning operation. As a structured person, you plan, manage, and prioritize your work even when multiple tasks are underway simultaneously. You are solution-oriented and thrive handling different types of work in varying environments. In addition to this, you also bring: Approved upper secondary education, preferably with a focus on construction and civil works Class B driver's license with manual transmission Good knowledge of Swedish, spoken and written Experience in carpentry, facility maintenance, or other construction-related work Vocational certification in TBM (woodwork, concrete work, masonry) is a plus We warmly welcome your application!
