The more basic tasks involve ADL (activities of daily living), communication using alternative communication methods, and training to help our client feel as well as possible both physically and mentally. You will be part of all aspects of the client's day, from household chores, cooking, and activities. Our client very much enjoys being in nature, driving, and spending time with his friends. He loves music in all its forms. A couple of times a week he attends day activities and also has other activities on days when he is not at day activities. He also swims every week, so swimming ability is appreciated. Since he does not communicate through speech, we place great importance on the person working with him being attentive and responsive to his signals. Assistant's Role and Experience We are looking for someone who is positive and active in their role as an assistant. You should be able to maintain positive communication without expecting many responses in return. You need to bring your own personality to the role and any experience with horses is welcomed, as it creates a sense of security and makes things smooth every time our client goes to his adaptive riding sessions.
