WORK DUTIES As a recreation leader at the Activity House, you become a creative force in an activity filled with energy, joy, and possibilities. You will lead and create activities for children in grades 4-6, young people in grades 7-17, seniors, and individuals within LSS, always with room for playfulness, participation, and personal initiative. You will alternate between organizing crafts, competitions, and spontaneous adventures, building relationships, inspiring groups, and making the Activity House a safe, welcoming, and vibrant meeting place. Holiday activities such as LAN events, excursions, and themed days add extra momentum to the year and make the work both varied and fun. Since the house is most active in the afternoons, evenings, and sometimes weekends, evening and weekend shifts are a natural part of the role and give you the chance to be there when the magic happens. As a recreation leader here, you become someone who spreads energy, creates community, and makes every day a little more fantastic for the people you meet. QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications Recreation leader education, or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent. Good skills in leading groups of different ages. The child has neuropsychiatric difficulties and may need support in managing emotions, impulses, and social situations. Sometimes it can be difficult to express what feels right, and it can show through strong reactions or challenging behavior. That's when we need an adult who can stay calm, be reassuring, and help the child find their way back to balance. Work Responsibilities As a caregiver, you work in a one-to-one arrangement where you follow and support the child throughout a full 24-hour shift, from morning until handover the next day. The work tasks are varied and consist of everything from morning routines, support at school and recreational activities to motivation work, supportive conversations, and individually adapted treatment interventions. Every day is about creating conditions for the child to succeed, develop, and feel safe.
