Instructor in Road and Street Design

About the Vocational University Education This education leads to a Vocational University degree with a focus on Traffic Engineering and has been developed in close collaboration with industry professionals. The program is divided into courses, where each course is an important step toward the degree. Teaching takes place remotely with an initial in-person meeting in Örebro for each course. What does the assignment entail? The assignment includes preparatory planning, development of materials and relevant literature, building instruction in our learning platform Canvas, and implementation. As an instructor, you will maintain ongoing contact with students throughout the course, be responsible for knowledge assessments, and conduct examinations according to the current course plan. You will work in close collaboration with an Education Manager (EM) who oversees the overall operational work for the entire program. The assignment also includes systematically improving the course quality together with the EM. We aim for a long-term collaboration as the course will be offered again. The current course 'Road and Street Design' will be conducted primarily remotely, scheduled for the final nine weeks of the spring term 2027, that is, weeks 15-23. This includes one in-person teaching day in Örebro on April 12, 2027. What does the course cover? The course shall provide knowledge on how roads and streets should be designed to meet the demands that society places today regarding transportation, communication, and infrastructure for different road user groups. This is done with consideration for accessibility, safety, traffic safety, passability, mobility, sustainability, and operation and maintenance requirements. Students shall gain an understanding of how to design dimensions and materials based on regulatory documents and local conditions in order to create an attractive street environment. Who are you? We are looking for someone with relevant employment and/or documented experience in road and street design and who has an interest in teaching and engaging with students at the post-secondary level. You may work in municipal, state, or private activities or have recently chosen to 'step back' for independent assignments. It is meritorious if you have or have had a pedagogical role with experience in grading within vocational higher education or other parts of the school system. What do we offer? This is an opportunity for you as an experienced industry professional to influence the future employable competence in the traffic sector. If you wish to develop your own career, we now offer you the opportunity to carry out the assignment alongside your ordinary professional role (provided your role allows it!) or as an independent assignment. Perhaps you have not previously dared to take the step toward a pedagogical role? This could be an appropriate assignment to begin with. We offer a fixed fee, developed according to standards within vocational higher education. Are you interested in the assignment? Do you feel ready to use your profession to make a difference for our students? Let us then together create a developmental collaboration over time! Here you can read more about Consensus Sverige AB www.consensus.nu and our vocational higher education activities www.yh.consensus.nu For more information about the assignment, contact Education Manager Caroline Hellström Frisk, 070-290 64 65, [email protected] We are conducting this recruitment on an ongoing basis, which may result in the assignment being filled before the final application deadline, so do not delay in submitting your application.
