Processing/Crop Production Worker
At Lantmännen, agriculture is at the heart of our core operations. With agriculture as our foundation, we have built the broad business that makes up the group today. Lantmännen has a completely unique value chain where we take responsibility from field to table every day. The Plant Breeding Organization of the Agriculture Division is now seeking a processing/crop production worker for Plant Breeding in Svalöv.
In Svalöv, we work on developing new varieties of agricultural crops such as forage grasses, clover, field beans, peas, wheat, oats, rye, and barley. Each year we have 140 hectares of trials distributed across more than 70,000 plots at Svalövsgården and we cultivate 8,000 m² of greenhouse space.
What you will do
Together with other plant breeding workers and team leaders, you will prepare seeds, sow, plant, and care for trial material in greenhouses and in the field. Care involves everything from fertilizing to treating with chemical control agents, manual weed removal, and crossing. You will harvest, clean, sample, and analyze variety trials and early seed increases, both manually and with machines. All of this includes tractor and thresher operation. Depending on the season, work takes place both in the field and indoors.
You participate in developing new work methods and technical solutions to improve plant breeding efficiency. You are part of the Breeding Station's work for a better work environment.
You report to the Station Manager and the position is based in Svalöv.
What you need to succeed and thrive
You have:
Secondary education or equivalent, fluent Swedish and good knowledge of English
Education and/or experience in plant breeding/the green industries
Class B driver's license
Preferably tractor experience, forklift experience, feeding and/or spray certification
You are:
Thorough and appreciate order and organization
A team player who can collaborate with others in your environment
Duty-conscious and unpretentious
Curious and want to learn new things
Comfortable using a computer as a work tool
Flexible and willing to work overtime during peak season
You share our values—Openness, Holistic Approach, Action—and our commitment to taking responsibility from field to table.
What we offer you
The position is permanent with an initial probation period by agreement. At Lantmännen, you become part of a larger context—we are a large global group that can therefore offer exciting opportunities throughout the entire value chain—from field to table. We also focus on diversity and want everyone to feel included. Here you have the opportunity to work, grow, and develop in many different areas.
Does it sound interesting?
We hope so! You apply for the position online and we will process applications on a rolling basis, but the final application deadline is 2026-10-18.
