Dining Room Server / Private Dining

At the cheese shop Odengatan, we are passionate about quality ingredients, personalized service, and hospitality. We have a small street-level shop that will expand slightly during summer and also include simple dining service. Behind the small shop is a larger kitchen where we prepare food for takeaway in the shop, catering, and prepare dinners for seated events in our private dining room (chambre séparée) located below the shop. We import most of our products ourselves from small producers who pour their hearts into their work, and we carry that passion forward in every customer interaction. Our operation runs on established routines and always puts the customer first. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance environment, who can motivate themselves and others. You should appreciate structure, take responsibility for the whole operation, and not leave problems for the next person. I cannot stress enough that those of us who work here find this industry entertaining and fun—we choose restaurant and shop work every day of the week over office work. Customer service is absolutely paramount in our business; you should enjoy taking care of groups in our intimate setting. We're seeking someone with a few years or even a decade of fine dining service experience. Working our dining room differs somewhat from traditional restaurants since we only host one party of 10–30 people at a time in our space. You'll be a key player in the dining room, expected to manage a complete group from start to finish—from mise en place to closing, without losing pace or attention to detail. Our dining room is open until midnight, and you'll work shifts with us, including every other weekend and evenings. If you're an evening person, this schedule will be sustainable.
