Deputy Director for Library Services
The Study and Scientific Library of the Pilsen Region (SVK PK) is seeking an experienced leader to assume responsibility for managing, developing, and ensuring the quality of library and information services. This role combines strategic and conceptual management, methodological leadership of professional processes, personnel management, and collaboration with partners in the fields of librarianship, education, and public administration. Work location: Pilsen Start date: Available by agreement Your Responsibilities • Manage and coordinate library and information services and be responsible for their further development and innovation, • Lead changes related to societal development and transformations in the field of librarianship, • Create methodologies, optimize professional processes, and ensure compliance with library standards and service quality, • Contribute to the creation of conceptual, strategic, and development documents of the regional library, • Personally manage the assigned department, • ActivelyCollaborate with libraries, professional institutions, external partners, and public administration representatives at regional and national levels. What We Need From You • Higher education; preferably in librarianship or information studies, • Experience in librarianship or information services and at least 5 years of experience in a leadership position, • Broad knowledge and understanding of library and information sciences, • Knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the Library Act No. 257/2001 Sb. and related regulations, • Capability for strategic and conceptual thinking, change management, and independent decision-making, • Excellent organizational and communication skills, responsibility, reliability, and ability for teamwork, • User-level proficiency with MS Office tools at least at the ICDL Profile Digital Literacy Certificate level, • Knowledge of English or German at least at the B2 level. What We Offer • Classification in salary grade 12 according to Government Regulation No. 341/2017 Sb., with a salary range of 31,230 to 45,260 Kč; the specific salary level will be determined based on relevant experience, plus a management allowance and the possibility of a personal allowance, • Full-time employment and an employment contract for a definite period with the option to extend to an indefinite period, • Flexible working hours, • 5 weeks of vacation and 6 days of sick leave, • Opportunity for further education and professional self-realization, • Pleasant and inspiring work environment and additional benefits.
