Residential Support Worker - Specializing in Harmful Substance Use and Addiction
Residential Support for Adults is part of the open-care unit within individual and family services in Hallstahammar. The unit employs various competencies to provide support and treatment to the municipality's residents of all ages. Other parts of our unit consist of family therapists and therapists for children, youth, families and adults, residential support workers for families, as well as an Open Preschool and Family Center. Our facilities are centrally located in Hallstahammar's center, in close proximity to our colleagues at the open-care clinic and the authority unit, which enables close collaboration.
Two of our residential support workers are now on parental leave, so we are seeking two engaged and experienced residential support workers with expertise in harmful substance use and addiction.

WORK DUTIES
As a residential support worker in our team, you will primarily work supporting individuals in their homes and daily lives. The interventions are needs-assessed and carried out on behalf of our colleagues in the authority unit. The work includes both long-term and acute interventions, and it is very important to be able to meet clients where they are and create motivation for change. You collaborate closely with clients, colleagues and other professionals, and document interventions in our activity systems. The work also includes, to some extent, an outreach and field-based assignment; for example, we offer coffee at Hammartor get every Monday and have an open breakfast every Thursday.
Working hours are scheduled in TimeCare and are carried out Monday-Sunday. Currently, we primarily work daytime hours, but in accordance with the new Social Services, we strive to increase our availability and therefore continuously evaluate our working hours and methods.
As part of your position, you will participate in and lead group activities based on manual-based methods, primarily relapse prevention.
Work duties:
-Provide individually tailored support to people with harmful substance use and addiction issues
-Lead group activities for people with harmful substance use and addiction
-Motivate and support the client in daily life toward increased independence and better quality of life
-Responsible for planning, implementation and follow-up of interventions as a contact person
-Daily documentation of completed interventions
-Collaborate with relevant actors in healthcare, care and social services
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with experience working in a motivating and change-oriented manner with people with harmful substance use and addiction. As a person, you are flexible and unpretentious, and have the ability to adapt quickly to what the situation requires and work in a solution-focused manner. You are confident in your professional role and meet every person with respect and a non-judgmental approach.
We are looking for someone with the following qualifications:
-Trained treatment pedagogue or equivalent post-secondary education
-Experience working with people with harmful substance use and addiction
-Documented knowledge in relapse prevention and CRA
-Flexible, responsible and with a good ability for independent work
-Good collaboration skills and professionalism in meeting with clients
-Good communication skills and experience with documentation
-B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles is a requirement
