RESTAURANT MANAGER – NEW PUB IN CENTRAL MALMÖ
We're opening a new pub on the pedestrian street in central Malmö. The concept is Swedish home cooking paired with a thoughtfully curated beer selection — a pub where food and drinks carry equal weight, and where regulars will want to come back. We're now looking for a restaurant manager who can lead both the dining room and the bar. About the Role You're responsible for daily operations: staff, scheduling, service, bar, and guests. You'll work closely with the owner and kitchen manager, helping build the business from the ground up. The bar is a major part of the concept, not an afterthought. You'll oversee the beer selection with us, manage the draft beer system, and ensure the quality in the glass matches the quality of the food. We're Looking for You If You've worked as a restaurant manager, bar manager, or head server with responsibility for staff and operations You understand cash handling, scheduling, labor economics, and waste management You know the alcohol regulations and what a serving license means in practice You've completed Responsible Alcohol Service training or are willing to do so You're a hands-on leader who can get a new team functioning quickly You speak Swedish Bonus Qualifications Background as a bartender. If you've worked behind the bar yourself, you understand how an evening flows, how to build a selection that sells, and how to train someone new. This matters to us. Hands-on experience with draft beer — line cleaning, pressure, storage, waste, and maintaining consistent quality Beer knowledge beyond the basics: styles, breweries, and how to assemble a small selection that pairs well with home cooking Knowledge of wine, spirits, and Swedish schnapps traditions Experience running a neighborhood pub rather than fine dining only Experience opening a new establishment Social media marketing experience What We Offer The chance to shape a completely new pub from day one, working with the owner Significant responsibility for the bar and beverage program Prime location on the pedestrian street with good foot traffic Salary based on experience Collective agreement and organized terms How to Apply Send your CV and a few lines about yourself to [email protected]. We'd also love to hear how you'd select four draft beers for a pub serving home cooking — we read those answers with great interest. We review applications on an ongoing basis and will fill the position as soon as we find the right person.
