About the Department Department 31 provides highly specialized reconstructive plastic surgery. Reconstructive plastic surgery aims to recreate tissue and/or function following cancer, trauma, burns, and congenital deformities, as well as for gender-affirming purposes. Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty technique that is not limited to any specific organ or tissue. Indications are often of a psychosocial nature, with the goal of restoring the patient to as normal an appearance or functionality as possible given the circumstances. Your Responsibilities As a nursing assistant with us, you will have varied, exciting, and responsible work where you will work with patients undergoing reconstructive plastic surgery. Almost all of our surgery is planned, and you will help nurses receive patients preoperatively, prepare them for surgery, and then care for patients postoperatively. Your major responsibility as a nursing assistant is the daily care of our patients, but because our patients have undergone surgery, they often have large wound areas that need dressing changes, and great emphasis is placed on how the wounds are cared for. About You You are a nursing assistant with an interest in surgery. Experience in surgery and wound care is a merit. We would like you to have a collaborative as well as independent work approach. About Us Department 92/93 is an inpatient care unit that handles acute cardiology cases and receives patients with acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, and arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation. We have a large influx of patients from ambulances and the acute intake unit. Our mission also includes receiving patients from other hospitals with various forms of heart disease. We have a well-functioning team where nursing assistants, nurses, physicians, and physiotherapists collaborate. This is an important part of ensuring that our work can be performed professionally and deliver high-quality care with the patient as our focus. Duties As a nursing assistant, you have an important role in patient care. You work closely with patients. Your duties include monitoring vital signs (pulse, blood pressure, saturation, and respiratory rate and temperature). Your work also includes performing EKGs, blood draws, wound dressing changes, fall risk assessments, and reporting any deviations to the nurse. The nurse and nursing assistant maintain close communication throughout their shift. Together with the nursing aide, you are responsible for patient meals. When you start with us, you will receive an orientation where you and your supervisor will go through your job description. We will gradually introduce you to the department until you feel confident in your role so that you can provide the best possible care. Welcome to Sweden's largest combined Anesthesia and Intensive Care Clinic (AOI) at Sahlgrenska University Hospital! We provide highly specialized care within a rapidly growing number of areas. The operation has approximately 570 employees with about 80 specialist physicians and approximately 30 resident physicians. The specialist physicians are divided into three sections (the Intensive Care Section, the Section for Special Operations, and the Section for Perioperative Medicine) that are closely interconnected within a comprehensive training program and a shared on-call system. A total of 40 operating rooms are distributed across eight surgical departments. We have a shared preoperative clinic, three postoperative units, including one Pediatric Recovery Unit and a postoperative intensive care unit (PIVA), as well as two intensive care units (CIVA/NIVA). AOI conducts research, development, and teaching in close collaboration with Sahlgrenska Academy.
