Welcome to Sweden's largest combined Anesthesia and Intensive Care Clinic (AOI) at Sahlgrenska University Hospital!
We provide highly specialized care within a rapidly growing number of areas. The operation has approximately 570 employees with about 80 specialist physicians and approximately 30 resident physicians. The specialist physicians are divided into three sections (the Intensive Care Section, the Section for Special Operations, and the Section for Perioperative Medicine) that are closely interconnected within a comprehensive training program and a shared on-call system.
A total of 40 operating rooms are distributed across eight surgical departments. We have a shared preoperative clinic, three postoperative units, including one Pediatric Recovery Unit and a postoperative intensive care unit (PIVA), as well as two intensive care units (CIVA/NIVA). AOI conducts research, development, and teaching in close collaboration with Sahlgrenska Academy.

Job responsibilities
As a specialist physician at AOI Sahlgrenska, you will participate in the operations both during daytime and on-call, for this position initially in the primary on-call tier. Supervision and teaching of resident physicians is included. The position includes a shorter period of service at Obstetrics AnOpIVA Östra Hospital (25% during the first year).
About you
You must be a licensed physician and hold a specialist certificate in anesthesia and intensive care issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you have previously worked within AOI Sahlgrenska University Hospital's operations, this is a merit.
