The Swedish Authority for Psychological Defence safeguards the open and democratic society and freedom of opinion formation by identifying, analyzing, and countering undue information influence and other misleading information directed at Sweden or Swedish interests. The Authority's primary mission is to lead the coordination and development of activities within psychological defence conducted by government agencies and other actors. The Authority is led by a Director General and has approximately 90 employees. The Authority has offices in Karlstad and Solna. The Capability Development Division works to enhance Sweden's overall capacity in psychological defence. Part of this involves providing support to public actors, media, the population, and civil society.
