Position summary We are looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Operations Specialist to support the commercialization and scale-up of Melt&Marble's products. This role combines manufacturing coordination, quality and compliance management, logistics coordination, and project management. The successful candidate will work closely with our manufacturing partners, testing laboratories, customers, and internal teams to ensure that production lots move smoothly from manufacturing through quality control, documentation, and delivery. Subject: Type Theory and Programming Languages Subject Description The project concerns the compilation of cubical type theory: the construction of a compiler that translates from cubical type theory to (hopefully efficient) executable code. This includes proving that the compiler is correct. The compiler may also support the elimination of code that is not needed for program execution. Duties The position is a two-year full-time position within the Logic and Types research group at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. You are expected to conduct high-quality research and publish your results in leading international journals and conference proceedings. You should be able to work both independently and as part of a team and communicate results orally and in writing. The position may include teaching at the department, including supervision of bachelor's and master's theses. Teaching would then constitute at most 20% of working time. You may also serve as a co-advisor for doctoral students. Qualifications Qualifications for employment as a researcher are regulated in Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and University of Gothenburg's employment regulations. Those eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher are those who have completed a doctoral degree in a relevant subject area, for example within computer science, or who have a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree. The doctoral degree must be completed no later than the start date when the employment decision is made. Priority should be given to those who completed their degree no more than three years before the application deadline. Those who completed their degree earlier should also be considered as priority candidates if there are special reasons. Special reasons include leave due to illness, parental leave, positions of trust within trade union organizations, service in total defense, or other similar circumstances, as well as clinical service or service/assignments relevant to the subject area. Evaluation Criteria Competitive candidates are expected to have a strong research background, experience working with cubical type theory, and preferably also experience with programming language implementation/compilation. However, we also welcome candidates working in related areas. Experience in supervising doctoral and master's students as well as teaching advanced courses will be considered as merits. The applicant should be able to work both independently and as part of a team. The ability to collaborate and take own initiatives are important qualities, as are thoroughness and interest in research. In evaluating applicants, particular emphasis will be placed on the ability to conduct research within the relevant research area. Both Swedish and English are used in basic teaching, while English is the working language for research at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Therefore, both oral and written proficiency in English is mandatory.
