Regional Sales Manager - Power Conversion Solutions, Utility-Scale
The opportunity We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Sales Manager to drive sales and business development for our power conversion solutions within the utility-scale renewable energy sector. In this role, you will build and strengthen relationships with key customers, identify new business opportunities, and play a central role in expanding our presence across the region. Working as part of a small and agile team, you will enjoy a high degree of autonomy and ownership, with a strong focus on delivering ambitious sales targets. The position involves regular travel throughout the region and offers an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven professional who thrives in a customer-facing environment. While the role does not include direct people management responsibilities, it requires strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions to achieve business growth. How you'll make an impact Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies for utility-scale power conversion solutions (e.g., inverters, converters for solar, wind, battery storage) to achieve regional revenue and market share goals. Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities with utility companies, independent power producers (IPPs), developers, and EPC contractors in the assigned territory. Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients, understanding their needs and positioning Hitachi Energy solutions effectively. Prepare and deliver compelling technical and commercial presentations, proposals, and quotations to clients. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to secure profitable sales agreements. Collaborate closely with internal teams including engineering, product management, project management, and legal to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, providing valuable input for product development and strategic planning. Participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and events to promote Hitachi Energy's solutions and expand professional networks. Provide accurate sales forecasts, reports, and market intelligence to management. Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Your background Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive sales experience in the power conversion or renewable energy sector, with a proven track record of selling complex solutions to utility-scale clients. In-depth understanding of utility-scale solar, wind, and/or battery energy storage systems and associated power conversion technologies. Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and closing skills. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a global team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite. Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; proficiency in other regional languages is a plus.
