Seasonal Operations Manager

We are a small team of about 35 employees during winter, working closely together across departments with short decision-making processes. Operations Manager As an Operations Manager, you are responsible for keeping the lifts running, maintaining them, and ensuring everything functions properly at the facility. You serve as a jack-of-all-trades and support other departments throughout the day. You should have experience with lifts, be handy, service-minded, and a problem solver. Desirable qualifications include lift mechanic certification, fall protection training, slope grooming machine certification, and experience in facilities maintenance or workshop work. The Facility Today Fjätervålen is located at 1,002 m above sea level and is a ski resort in northern Dalarna, approximately 20 km northeast of Idre. The ski resort is privately owned and employs about 35 staff during peak season. The slopes are FIS-classified in both GS and SL for international competitions. There are four lifts, eighteen runs, and a cottage village with 250 cabins. The longest run is 3 km long with a vertical drop of 317 meters. The area also features 4.8 miles of beautiful cross-country ski trails, a ski shop/rental/workshop, cabin booking service, local convenience store, parking areas, ski school, and a restaurant. Ski Patroller As a ski patroller, you are responsible for safety at the facility. Your tasks vary greatly and include everything from assisting injured guests, daily slope inspections, marking hazards, and more. You are often the person our guests meet out on the slopes. Fjätervålen hosts several major competitions and training camps, which guarantees an action-packed winter. Much of the work takes place outdoors in all types of weather. You need to be service-minded and a problem solver. It is advantageous if you have ski patrol training and current first aid certification. Gördalen Backcountry Seeking Staff for Winter Season

Do you love snowmobiling, the mountains, fast-paced work, and creating memorable dining experiences in a fantastic environment? Then we want you on our team! Gördalen Backcountry is looking for 4 people for the facility ahead of the 2026/2027 winter season. 1 person in the kitchen as head chef/cook. 2 people for other duties including serving, dishwashing, bar, cleaning, and other tasks related to hotel and restaurant operations. These positions can be tailored based on needs and experience. 1 person for the hotel who handles breakfast preparation, room cleaning, and has main responsibility for the hotel operations. Also responsible for cleaning the campground's service facilities. We're looking for someone who: Has experience in restaurant or institutional kitchens (a plus but not required) Has hotel experience Is positive, responsible, and enjoys working as part of a team Thrives in a fast-paced environment with guests as the priority Is flexible and wants to help create a wonderful experience for our guests Understands that Gördalen is not like Sälen – Monday through Wednesday you'll be fairly alone in the village Appreciates that the work is highly varied in tasks and pace. You need to take significant independent responsibility and understand that "there's always something to do" even if it's tasks not directly related to hotel and restaurant operations. Work Hours: Hours may vary, but you'll likely work Wednesday–Sunday each week during the season. The schedule will be set in mid-December. Take the opportunity to combine your skiing passion with a fun and educational job with us this winter. Ski School: Alpine/cross-country/snowboard/telemark/park We're looking for someone who is passionate about skiing and teaching both children and adults. As a ski instructor with us, we require that you have completed at least level 2 through SLAO, Friluftsfrämjandet, or equivalent. Our ski school is small, personal, and flexible, offering both group and private lessons, and you'll have significant responsibility. The position can be tailored to your needs, whether hourly or as a combined role with other departments such as the ski shop, activity leader, lift operations, park maintenance, etc. It's a plus if you have additional instructor certifications and can teach multiple disciplines. Park We're also looking for someone who enjoys spending time in the park and maintaining it. This is a combined position with, for example, the lift or ski school, and park duties include participating in park construction with our machine operators, ongoing maintenance, and actively participating in our park evenings with guests. It's also desirable if you can teach basic park lessons.
