About Us The Rehabilitation Team in Sala Municipality is a wonderful and ambitious group consisting of occupational therapists, physical therapists, and rehabilitation assistants. We are responsible for rehabilitation services throughout the municipality's elderly care services and in the functional impairment area. We are a relatively large work group that is further divided into smaller work groups based on area of operation. Your Responsibilities As an occupational therapist in ordinary housing, you will work throughout the municipality, with our office facilities at Sala Hospital as your base. You will be part of a team together with a physical therapist, nurse, rehabilitation assistant, and home care staff, and will be responsible for occupational therapy assessments and interventions for municipality residents who need rehabilitation services in their own homes. You will also work closely with the home care unit manager and coordinator, benefits administrator, and external partners such as health centers and inpatient care. There are excellent opportunities for experience exchange and assistance when needed, as you will have daily contact with your colleagues in the rehabilitation team. The fact that we share facilities with the region's rehabilitation staff at the hospital also provides opportunities for knowledge exchange and facilitates cooperation in connection with discharge from care units. Using a person-centered approach, you will plan and perform occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and follow-ups based on the individual's personal goals and circumstances. You will have a natural and active role in the team around patients regarding preventive, function-preserving, and activity-promoting interventions. Together with the unit manager and other colleagues, you will also participate in the operation's quality and development work. In addition to patient-facing work, your responsibilities will include supporting, coaching, and to some extent educating care staff in function- and activity-preserving methods and assistive device handling. It may also be appropriate to mentor students from the occupational therapy program at Uppsala University. What We Are Looking For We are seeking someone who is a licensed occupational therapist, preferably with a couple of years of experience in the profession. Previous experience in municipal elderly care or home rehabilitation is a merit, as is having assistive device prescription rights in Västmanland. If you have further training in, for example, geriatrics, dementia diseases, or other areas that the employer considers appropriate for the position, this is also a plus. You are committed to your work, enjoy collaborating, have a good manner, and communicate well with patients, family members, colleagues, and others. The work tasks are varied and of different types, which requires that you are responsible, structured, flexible, and solution-focused.
