Unit Manager for Economic Assistance
We are looking for you to be part of our journey toward a better everyday life, a stronger future, and improved quality of life for the residents of Perstorp. With us, you will work in an environment where work joy, commitment, and development are a natural part of everyday life. We believe in thinking differently, working smart, and continuously improving together.
Perstorp Municipality is located in the heart of northern Skåne, in the heart of the dynamic Öresund region – one of Sweden's most expansive areas. Here, the proximity and security of a small town are combined with access to both natural experiences and larger cities. The municipality has approximately 7,300 residents and around 560 employees who together drive development forward.
We are proud of our strong business sector and our focus on public health, sustainability, and quality of life. Here there are good opportunities to make an impact, develop, and make a difference every day.
Description
The Social Services Department of Perstorp Municipality is now seeking a unit manager for economic assistance, adult services, intimate partner violence, and elderly and disability services (LSS).
This is a position for you who want to make a real difference. We are looking for an engaged, development-oriented, and confident leader who wants to help develop modern, legally sound, and sustainable authority operations. With us, you will have the opportunity to lead change, think innovatively, and together with engaged employees and management colleagues shape the future of social services.
Work Tasks
About the Assignment
As a unit manager, you are responsible for:
Economic assistance
Budget and debt counseling
Adult case management within substance abuse issues and mental health
Assistance case management according to the Social Services Act
LSS case management
You will lead a work group of approximately ten engaged employees and have responsibility for operations, personnel, work environment, and budget.
The assignment involves both ensuring legally sound authority operations and developing the service based on the new Social Services Act and future needs. We are therefore looking for a manager who dares to challenge established practices, sees opportunities in change, and inspires others to develop together.
An Assignment with Strong Development Focus
Perstorp Municipality, like many others, faces extensive changes. The new Social Services Act, new work methods, and increased demands for collaboration place high demands on courageous and development-oriented leadership.
An important part of the assignment is therefore to develop collaboration with the Labor Market Unit, not least based on the new activity requirement, where close and active cooperation is essential for more residents to achieve self-sufficiency.
You are also expected to have close collaboration with our preventive unit, which offers services locally with a focus on early intervention. Together, we want to create a social service where residents receive the right support at the right time and where preventive work is a natural part of the service. Together we make a difference!
One of the municipality's and the social services department's overarching goals is to increase the proportion of residents who are self-sufficient and reduce over-indebtedness. At the same time, we know that child poverty is a major challenge in the municipality. Therefore, we actively work to create long-term and sustainable solutions that give children and families better conditions for a secure, equitable, and future-oriented upbringing.
As a unit manager, you will become an important part of this work and will have the opportunity to genuinely influence development. You will become part of the social services department's management team together with engaged and competent management colleagues who work closely together and have a common focus – to create the best possible conditions for the municipality's residents.
You also have the support of qualified administration-wide operational support in areas such as quality, development, and finance, which provides good conditions to focus on leadership and service development.
We believe in collaboration, modesty, and leadership where we help each other succeed.
Qualifications
We are looking for a leader who combines warm and trustful leadership with a clear development focus.
You:
Have a degree in social work
Have experience being a manager with personnel, operational, and budget responsibility
Have experience leading change and development work
Have good knowledge of authority operations within social services
Are well versed in the Social Services Act and the regulations governing the service
Have experience from public sector operations, preferably municipal
Are confident in your leadership and have the ability to make decisions in complex matters
Are communicative and create participation through open and clear leadership
Have good collaboration skills and build trusting relationships both internally and externally
Work strategically while having the ability to translate ideas into concrete results
See opportunities in change and are motivated by developing both the service and people.
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
Welcome to Perstorp Municipality! With us, you will have the opportunity to lead a service where development, collaboration, and quality are in focus. Together, we are building a social service that meets tomorrow's needs – with the resident at the center.
