In this role you will be part of a new expanding department that will focus on type testing and type approvals within HVDC for Electrical Environment. We are part of Control & Protection for hardware design. We are designing the automation system layout with placement of circuit boards and cable channeling and more, at our sites. Our cubicles have control cabinet layout, consisting of hundreds of circuit boards for measurements, control and calculations. IT/OT System Engineer for HVDC
We are looking for IT/OT System engineers to join Hitachi Energy in Ludvika! You will be part of a team of talented engineers tasked with deploying and securing the next generation of control systems within HVDC. You will be responsible for integrating and implementing features aligning with customer and market requirements. In this position you will serve as a key resource in the assigned area contributing to deployments of the MACH control platform in large HVDC project deliveries at Hitachi Energy. How you'll make an impact Be part of a team for system, network, and cybersecurity design and implementations in HVDC projects, focusing on OT - HMI, SCADA, automation. Building complete infrastructure of networks and systems to support operations and ensuring systems and networks contain defined levels of cybersecurity. Upon level of experience, mentoring junior associates and driving knowledge-sharing initiatives. Upon level of experience, actively contributing to identifying and capturing opportunities for improvement. Your background A university degree within a relevant technical area, preferably Computer Science, Automation, or other relevant education or experience. Experience in HMI (human machine interface) design and testing, Aveva platform, Micro Scada, or similar. Experience in SCADA, automation design and testing, IEC101, IEC104, IEC61850, or similar, along with scripting languages and automation technologies. Experience with databases and high-availability solutions, as well as network equipment such as firewalls, switches, GPS clocks, and redundant network designs and protocols. Good verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English and comfortable in customer discussions. Experience with Microsoft client and server operating systems, AD, and any security-relevant systems is meritorious. As a Control and Protection Commissioning Engineer you will be part of the HVDC unit. You will get involved in the later stages of system testing at Hitachi Energy premises and lead commissioning activities of Control and Protection and SCADA at customer sites. You will be part of the hand-over and trial operations of HVDC links, with a direct interface with customers and opportunities to travel globally. How you'll make an impact Organize and execute testing and commissioning activities, including test equipment management. Participate in technical discussions with clients and consultants. Ensure full understanding of scope and division of work. Communicate all changes to the Commissioning Manager. Ensure customer commitments are met according to contract.
