The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also manages closed youth care. We operate youth homes and residential facilities for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. SiS Youth Home Margretelund serves non-compulsory school-age girls and boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. We have operations in Lidköping and near Falköping.
Job Description
Would you like to help create life-changing impact for vulnerable people? A position as Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. Your mission is to motivate our youth toward new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You help ensure that departmental routines function properly. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our youth, and you form the foundation of daily life activities such as schooling, cleaning, meal preparation, and more. You contribute to maintaining order and security at the institution according to our established procedures. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and help ensure our youth receive the safety and security they need to break established patterns of behavior. Together with your team of engaged colleagues such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The work is often demanding but also stimulating, rewarding, and varied.

Work is scheduled on a day, evening, and weekend basis.
As a new employee, you will complete SiS's 10-week foundational training. The training combines theoretical instruction with guided practical introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to creating life-changing impact. Therefore, you must have a strong ability to foster engagement and participation. Equally important is a solid positive view of people, strong empathetic ability, and the capacity to build good relationships. You communicate well and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to work collaboratively with others and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues.
You must also have:
- At least 2 years of post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field.*
- Category B driver's license
- Fluent Swedish, both spoken and written
It is also beneficial if you have:
- Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, such as Prison Officer
- Security Guard training
- Training in healthcare and social services
- Experience working with our target population

Employment:
This is a permanent full-time position with an initial six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
