Country Manager Sweden - GRM

GRM is seeking a Country Manager for Sweden with a solid understanding of mineral exploration and geophysical field work, who wants to build up and lead our Swedish organization. GRM is a Finnish company specializing in geophysical contracting and consulting services, focused on mineral exploration. Our core services include surface geophysics surveys, borehole measurements, and UAV-based surveys, primarily for customers in the mining and mineral exploration industry. Sweden is already a significant market for GRM. Approximately 40–50 percent of our current revenue comes from Sweden, and we already have customers, ongoing projects, references, and a strong project pipeline. The next step is to build a local organization around the existing operations and create conditions for continued growth. You will therefore not be coming in to build a new market from the ground up, but rather taking responsibility for existing operations and gradually developing the Swedish organization. Our operations in Sweden today The business is primarily focused on mineral exploration and the mining industry in northern Sweden. GRM currently offers three main service areas: surface measurements borehole measurements UAV measurements All services can already be delivered using our existing expertise, personnel, and equipment in Finland. The next step is to build up local capacity in Sweden. What does the role entail? In the first phase, your most important task is to ensure that GRM continues to deliver on its Swedish projects while you build up a local organization. You will: take responsibility for Swedish projects and field operations plan personnel, equipment, and logistical needs recruit and lead the first local employees build up the local field organization and gradually reduce the need for resources from Finland work closely with GRM's project managers and technical experts establish local suppliers, subcontractors, agreements, and other resources take responsibility for the operational management of the Swedish subsidiary. Our ambition is to build a local organization with approximately 10–15 employees during the first year. This is not a role where you are expected to perform field measurements yourself. However, you need to understand mineral exploration and geophysical field projects well enough to lead the operations and conduct credible discussions with customers and GRM's technical experts. How will the role develop? Initially, the focus is on projects, field operations, recruitment, and organizational development. Sales and customer development are also part of the role, but GRM already has customers and established contacts in Sweden. As the organization becomes established, your responsibilities will increasingly include: developing existing customer relationships winning new business financial results for the Swedish operations budgeting and business planning developing GRM's position in the Swedish market leading an increasingly independent Swedish organization. Who are we looking for? We are primarily looking for someone who is familiar with the mineral exploration environment and understands the type of geophysical field work that GRM performs. Your current title does not need to be Country Manager. For example, you may have worked in geophysics, mineral exploration, project management, or field operations and have experience leading projects, operations, and/or people. Backgrounds such as Geophysics Manager, Exploration Manager, Field Manager, Senior Geophysicist, or Exploration Project Manager are therefore highly relevant. We expect you to have: substantial experience in mineral exploration and/or exploration geophysics a solid understanding of geophysical field operations and project delivery experience leading projects, field operations, and/or people sufficient technical understanding to communicate credibly with customers and specialists the willingness and ability to recruit and build a local team an entrepreneurial and practical approach to work commercial understanding and the ability to develop customer relationships very strong proficiency in Swedish and English. Experience in business management, profit responsibility, sales, or organizational development is highly desirable. A relevant network within Swedish mineral exploration is also an advantage. You do not need to master all geophysical methods or be GRM's leading technical expert. GRM's specialists and project managers will continue to provide technical expertise. Who will you work with? You will work closely with our CEO, operational management, project managers, Business Development, and finance functions in Finland. Initially, Finnish project managers, field teams, and equipment will continue to support projects in Sweden while the local organization is being built up. You will report the development of the Swedish operations to GRM's CEO. Why GRM? You will have the opportunity to build and shape GRM's Swedish operations on an already established business foundation. There are already customers, projects, references, equipment, and expertise in place. At the same time, the local organization remains to be built. You will have significant influence over recruitment, organization, and how the business develops. As operations grow, your role and responsibilities will expand. Location and working arrangements The role is based in northern Sweden. Initially, you will work primarily from home and travel to project sites and customers as needed. GRM plans to establish local offices as the organization grows. Travel is estimated to constitute approximately 25 percent of the role, primarily within Sweden, with occasional travel to Finland and possibly Norway. Compensation Salary will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
