Alarm Center Seeks Substitute Alarm Operator
Räddningstjänst (BRT) is a municipal federation in eastern Värmland between Degerfors, Filipstad, Hällefors, Karlskoga, Kristinehamn and Storfors municipalities with approximately 200 employees and 8 fire stations. The Alarm Center's operations in its current form began in 1997. Today we receive various types of technical alarms such as fire, burglary, operational, elevator, and security alarms from all six member municipalities within the federation. We dispatch to municipal on-call services and also staff the federation's telephone exchange. We are now seeking engaged temporary workers who are willing to work as needed in our alarm center. About the Position As an alarm operator, you work in a vital community service where you receive and handle incoming alarms and calls. The work requires that you can act calmly, professionally, and in a structured manner even in stressful situations. Main Responsibilities: Working as an alarm operator in our alarm center involves: Answering municipalities' security alarms Handling incoming alarms such as automatic fire alarms, burglary alarms, and operational alarms Relay information and contact to municipal on-call services and other functions Perform administrative tasks related to the alarm center's operations Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Is flexible and appreciates varying work hours Is stress-resistant and service-oriented Speaks and writes Swedish fluently Has a couple of years of work experience Is experienced working with computers and multiple systems simultaneously Has a high school diploma Holds a Class B driver's license Personal Qualities To thrive in this role, you need to: Have strong ability to meet people in difficult situations in a calm and professional manner Be able to gather and convey information clearly and effectively even under time pressure Be able to handle pace variations while maintaining good prioritization skills Be organized and methodical even under high workload Have good collaboration skills and be able to work with both internal and external parties Be communicative, attentive, and clear in your communication style Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
