About Us The Infectious Diseases Clinic provides specialized infectious disease care in Halland and is located at Hallands Hospital Halmstad. The clinic consists of a ward and a specialist outpatient clinic, with both acute and planned outpatient services. The clinic also conducts extensive consultations within Halmstad and Varberg hospitals as well as throughout the healthcare system. The infectious diseases ward has 20 beds for patients with severe infections or contagious diseases requiring isolation. The clinic currently employs approximately 75 staff members, including 11 specialist physicians and 3 ST physicians/locum physicians. The clinic has a strong reputation and functions well. Staff members are engaged and the stable physician group works closely with other professions. About the Position As a physician with us, you will work Monday through Friday, with typical duties on both the ward and in the outpatient clinic. Additionally, you will be part of a shared on-call rotation with the Internal Medicine Clinic on weekends. The clinic has a good educational climate and you will receive support from your colleagues and a designated mentor. The locum position is for 6 months from the first day of employment with the possibility of extension. Your Profile We are looking for you as a licensed physician with a strong interest in infectious disease medicine. As a person, you are calm, stable, and able to plan and structure your work. We are now seeking someone with a strong interest in psychiatric care who wants to join our team! Duties Working as an associate physician is rewarding and a key step in your career where you will develop your skills through daily clinical work. This is valuable preparation for, for example, AT/BT positions. It is an opportunity to build confidence in clinical work in a supportive environment after your education, get to know the city, establish a social network, and gain a foothold in the hospital and its organization, routines, and documentation systems for the future. In your daily work and on-call duties, you will always have an experienced colleague to consult in all situations. The temporary position can also be pursued by those with a license who are interested in a potential future ST position. We continuously work with our training program for our AT/BT physicians, and the value of this work is evident in, for example, the AT ranking. There is an opportunity to participate as a temporary physician as well. As an associate physician with us, you will meet patients with various psychiatric diagnoses. Your work will include standard ward duties such as admissions, daily evaluations, discharge summaries, and referrals, among other tasks. You will work closely with senior physicians and participate in patient treatment and follow-up as well as plan for discharge. You work in a team with other professions, and through mentoring, you will develop a deeper understanding of healthcare and enhance your ability to meet and treat patients with mental health issues. On-call duties are part of your work, and you will manage patients with clear support from senior physicians/on-call backup. You will be part of the physician group and collaborate with other associate physicians, ST physicians, senior physicians/specialist physicians, and chief senior physicians. All associate physicians receive a comprehensive introduction and continuous mentoring. We are now seeking 1 associate physician for a temporary position with good possibility for extension. We have extensive experience coordinating the position in relation to, for example, the AT/BT application process. About the Workplace Psychiatry Halland is Region Halland's department for all public specialist psychiatry. This includes psychiatry for children, adolescents, and adults, both outpatient and 24-hour care. Psychiatry Halland has approximately 650 employees and operations in all municipalities in the region. Psychiatry Halland is led by a department director, operations managers, unit managers, and medical leaders. Psychiatry in Halland is in an intensive development phase where we work to create well-functioning psychiatry and develop our care processes toward more open care models.
