Duties Working as an associate physician is rewarding and a key step in your career where you will develop your skills through daily clinical work. This is valuable preparation for, for example, AT/BT positions. It is an opportunity to build confidence in clinical work in a supportive environment after your education, get to know the city, establish a social network, and gain a foothold in the hospital and its organization, routines, and documentation systems for the future. In your daily work and on-call duties, you will always have an experienced colleague to consult in all situations. The temporary position can also be pursued by those with a license who are interested in a potential future ST position. We continuously work with our training program for our AT/BT physicians, and the value of this work is evident in, for example, the AT ranking. There is an opportunity to participate as a temporary physician as well. As an associate physician with us, you will meet patients with various psychiatric diagnoses. Your work will include standard ward duties such as admissions, daily evaluations, discharge summaries, and referrals, among other tasks. You will work closely with senior physicians and participate in patient treatment and follow-up as well as plan for discharge. You work in a team with other professions, and through mentoring, you will develop a deeper understanding of healthcare and enhance your ability to meet and treat patients with mental health issues. On-call duties are part of your work, and you will manage patients with clear support from senior physicians/on-call backup. You will be part of the physician group and collaborate with other associate physicians, ST physicians, senior physicians/specialist physicians, and chief senior physicians. All associate physicians receive a comprehensive introduction and continuous mentoring. We are now seeking 1 associate physician for a temporary position with good possibility for extension. We have extensive experience coordinating the position in relation to, for example, the AT/BT application process. About the Workplace Psychiatry Halland is Region Halland's department for all public specialist psychiatry. This includes psychiatry for children, adolescents, and adults, both outpatient and 24-hour care. Psychiatry Halland has approximately 650 employees and operations in all municipalities in the region. Psychiatry Halland is led by a department director, operations managers, unit managers, and medical leaders. Psychiatry in Halland is in an intensive development phase where we work to create well-functioning psychiatry and develop our care processes toward more open care models. Other focus areas include increasing patient participation and being perceived as an attractive employer. Our 24-hour care is located in Halmstad and Varberg with associated psychiatric emergency clinics and on-call lines. Halmstad has three care units, and Varberg has 5 care units including two regional units such as forensic psychiatry and substance abuse. Our outpatient care is located throughout Halland's cities: Laholm, Hylte, Halmstad, Falkenberg, Varberg, and Kungsbacka, with close cooperation between our outpatient and 24-hour care. Qualifications We are seeking someone who has completed and passed coursework through term 10 of medical school and has completed the psychiatry course with passing grades. Having a completed medical degree is also a merit. The position can also be sought by licensed physicians. To ensure good and secure communication with colleagues, patients/clients, and other contacts, we require good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. We consider it a merit if you have previous experience as an associate physician and work experience in specialist psychiatric operations. In addition to strong medical competence and thoroughness, you are calm, professional, and respectful toward patients and colleagues. You collaborate well with others and have the ability to listen and adapt your communication based on the other person. You are also skilled at planning and prioritizing your work efficiently.
