The unit also has a placement group responsible for following up placed children and for investigating and supervising foster families. When you start with us, you will become part of one of our two investigation groups. Your main task is to investigate children's and young people's need for support and protection according to the Social Services Act, with Children's Needs in Focus (BBIC) as the foundation. You meet children, young people, and their families in different life situations and work to find sustainable solutions with the child's best interests in focus. An important part of the work is conversing with children, guardians, and other people in the family's network. You also collaborate closely with, for example, schools, health and medical care, police, and other actors around the child and family. We work according to Signs of Safety, a method that focuses on identifying strengths, resources, and solutions together with the family to create a safe and secure situation for the child. The assignment also includes documentation, record-keeping, follow-up of granted measures, and preparing decision-making materials. Depending on the nature of the case, you make decisions according to delegation or prepare cases for decision-making. To create quality in investigations and security in your professional role, we usually have two social workers on each case.
