Within the local police district, there are enforcement and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and service. The local police district Luleå/Boden, support and service, is now seeking two service handlers for the police service office in Boden. Duties Employees at the police authority's service offices are the face of the organization and often the first contact for the public - an important contact point. The operations serve both as authority functions and service functions with accessibility for both external and internal service. Working as a service handler at the police service office is meaningful work in building trust in police operations through engagement, quality, and security in case handling combined with efficiency and courteous treatment. As a handler at the police service office, you will have an important role within the scope of the police's service mission. Main duties: • Handle both applications and issuance of passports and national ID cards • Receive and register reports from the public • Receive weapons and permit documents, contested parking fines, requests for public records, extracts from the criminal record register, handling of seized items, lost property, and service of documents • Communication with internal and external stakeholders, both through in-person meetings and through various communication channels, such as email, phone, and social media • Cooperation both internally within the police authority and externally with other government agencies and community stakeholders • Additional duties as the flow of cases varies significantly You will primarily be based in Boden. Other locations may temporarily become relevant for service. Working hours at the police service office are primarily scheduled during daytime, however, evening work and weekend work may occur. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: • High school diploma or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways • Current work experience in service with many external direct contacts through in-person meetings, for example in front desk operations, customer service, retail, or similar experience that the employer deems relevant • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written • Category B driver's license • Good computer skills and ability to learn new IT systems Meritorious: • Current and relevant experience with report taking within the legal system or another government agency • Current experience with administrative work that the employer deems relevant for the position • Knowledge/skill regarding relevant police data systems such as RES, Durtvå, lost property, PÄR, etc. • Work experience from a government agency or public administration that the employer deems relevant • Knowledge of law or legal science acquired through education or work • Proficiency in additional languages that the employer deems relevant beyond Swedish and English where you can use the language in your professional practice Personal Qualities As a service handler at the police service office, engagement, availability, and efficiency are required. As the work alternates with occasionally high work pace, we believe you are someone who thrives and is driven by this, while at the same time it does not affect your accuracy or customer service. It is important that you have a service-oriented, structured, and flexible approach as well as good teamwork skills since you will work closely with your colleagues.
