Department of Urban and Rural Development Doctoral Subject: Agrarian History Description of the PhD Project: A key question in historical research is how people in pre-industrial societies gained access to food. During the early modern period, the majority of all food in Europe consisted of grain, transformed into bread, beer, and porridge. This was the most important human energy source, and the vast majority of Europe's population therefore worked to produce, transport, and process grain. The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences, GIH, is Sweden's leading knowledge center for sport, performance development, physical activity, and health. We conduct high-quality research with societal relevance, focusing on people in motion. We educate teachers in the school subject of sport and health, as well as coaches, health scientists, behavioral scientists, sport and health managers, sports scientists, and researchers. GIH has 160 staff members and 1,400 students. The school is located in central Stockholm, close to Stockholm Stadium and a large sports and outdoor recreation area. We are now seeking a postdoctoral researcher for the project: "Broccoli's bioactive compounds for improved glucose control, health and quality of life in older adults" - a randomized, placebo-controlled and double-blind intervention study. Responsibilities The project is conducted in collaboration between academia, industry, and society (GIH, Nomio AB, and the Kamprad Family Foundation) and investigates how daily supplementation with broccoli sprout extract combined with regular physical activity affects glucose control, low-grade inflammation, physical capacity, sleep, and quality of life in older adults (65–80 years). The project is implemented in close collaboration with participating municipalities and elderly care centers in the Greater Stockholm area. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will play a central role in implementing the project and are expected to independently coordinate the study regarding protocol, participant logistics, and measurement procedures. The responsibilities include planning and conducting physiological tests and health measurements, including functional tests, VO₂ max tests, handling of wearable sensors, and analysis of biochemical markers. You will also be responsible for implementing training interventions and supervising and coordinating master's students who participate in the project as instructors. During the project, you are expected to process and analyze research data, interpret results, and contribute to scientific publications. The position also includes actively participating in GIH's research and teaching activities. Qualifications Eligible for the position is someone who has completed a doctoral degree, or a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctoral degree, in physiology, sports science, medical science, or another comparable field within three years prior to the application deadline. Project Manager IT Department, Lock Technology (Southern Sweden)
To the Swedish Police Authority's IT Department, we are seeking a project manager with technical expertise in lock technology. With us, you will contribute to increasing safety and reducing crime in Sweden, together with 1,400 dedicated colleagues. Job Description As a project manager, you will drive projects for new establishments and major renovations within the lock systems area. You coordinate deliveries between internal and external parties and ensure that lock systems work together with fire safety, alarms, access control systems, and accessibility requirements. The role encompasses everything from strategic development and standardization to more operational follow-up of contracts. Your main areas of responsibility will be: • Project management of more and less complex installations and contracts • Coordination of locks across the entire ecosystem (locks, fire safety, alarms, evacuation) • Creation of lock schemes and management of orders • Troubleshooting, monitoring, and further development of lock technology in the regions • Networking and leading meetings and forums Travel and some on-call availability may occur. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: • Post-secondary education in lock technology or equivalent experience • At least two years of experience in project management within lock installations and contracts (acquired experience that the Swedish Police Authority deems equivalent) • Experience in creating lock schemes • Good experience with lock technology in ecosystems with fire safety/alarms/access control systems, as well as knowledge of accessibility and evacuation • Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English (spoken and written) • Class B driver's license and Swedish citizenship Meritorious experience • Requirements specification and standardization within lock technology • Customer relations and public procurement • Experience from government operations or other regulated activities Personal qualities: You are driven, organized, and have a great interest in technology.
