Forensic Psychiatry in Skåne is part of the Department of Psychiatry, Rehabilitation and Assistive Devices and operates in Trelleborg, Malmö, Helsingborg, Kristianstad, and Hässleholm. We care for approximately 300 patients and provide both inpatient and outpatient services, allowing us to follow patients over time. All patients begin their care in inpatient settings and can then transition to outpatient forensic psychiatric care. To meet patients' care needs, various professionals are assigned to each patient. Care content and delivery are well documented in the department's ISO-certified management system. Forensic Psychiatry cares for individuals court-ordered to forensic psychiatric care under the Forensic Psychiatric Care Act (LRV). The most common diagnoses are psychotic disorders with significant functional impairment, often combined with substance use. Our patients often need assistance with finances, appropriate housing, and meaningful activities. Collaboration with the patient's support network is central. WORKING AS A PHYSIOTHERAPIST WITH US You will become part of a work team of five physiotherapists where your colleagues have extensive and broad experience. Your work team is part of the Health and Healthcare Unit, which also consists of 24 nurses, six occupational therapists, five physiotherapists, and two nursing assistants. We help each other both within the work team and between different professional groups in other units. Here there is close leadership that encourages participation. You will meet a wide variety of patients and diagnoses, which means you will continue to develop throughout your career. About the Operations Ambulance care has a regional mission and consists of five ambulance stations, three satellite stations operated by Region Västernorrland, and three privately operated ambulance stations. The operations employ approximately 200 staff distributed across five region-operated units, each led by a unit manager, and three contracted units. The operations are responsible for prehospital care, which includes assessment and treatment of acutely ill and injured patients of all ages and with all types of medical conditions and injuries before hospital care. Ambulance services handle approximately 36,000 assignments per year. The operations maintain important interfaces and collaborations with SOS Alarm, emergency departments, care units, primary care, psychiatric care, national and municipal emergency services, social services, municipal care and elderly care, and police. The two ambulance stations in Härnösand and Kramfors currently employ approximately 55 specialist nurses, nurses, and nursing assistants (ambulance paramedics).
