About the operation Student Team Adult Education & Community Orientation (Elevteam komvux & CSO) is a unit within the department's adult education with a mission to support young adult students in beginning and completing their studies. The team consists of a unit manager, coordinator, study and career advisor, study counselor, special education teacher, counselor, and administrators. Our current special education teacher will be on leave for a period, and we are therefore seeking a substitute for a fixed-term assignment during the leave, until April 2027. The unit has developed methods for working with students who need support and extra accommodations in their studies in adult education. The target group is young adults who come from introductory programs at upper secondary school, from Youth Job Centers, and from other partner organizations to studies at adult education. The unit is based in Södermalm, but since the position involves supporting students at the department's adult education schools, you will work at various locations throughout the Stockholm area. The special education teacher role As a special education teacher, you work in a multidisciplinary team whose purpose is to create good conditions for students' learning. You work both operationally with students in learning situations and also strategically and preventively. You analyze students' support and accommodation needs and offer individualized support. Your tasks include planning, implementing, evaluating, and ensuring high-quality educational activities that create context for students' schooling. You involve the student in planning and develop their learning ability. In this role, you work closely with teaching staff at schools within adult education. You also collaborate with various parties both internally within the Employment Department and externally with the Education Department, where you contribute your expertise at organizational, group, and individual levels regarding preventive measures and accommodations.
