You will meet a wide variety of clients of different ages with different backgrounds and experiences. You will conduct searches, apply restraints to clients, and supervise clients during transport. The Transport Department's assignments are varied, which means your working hours can change from day to day. Evening, night, and weekend work may be included. The times in the schedule are frame hours, typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Nationally, it is more common to finish before the frame time ends, and in most cases you have a consistent start time. Frame hours mean that the employer can adjust your start and end times. Changes are communicated before the previous shift ends. For example, a shift could be between 7:00 AM–7:00 PM (12 hours) or 9:00 AM–4:00 PM (7 hours). Working hours are reconciled every three months. If you have worked more than expected, you will receive overtime pay. If you have worked less than expected, you will still receive your regular salary. You will begin your employment at the workplace where you will receive an introduction during three weeks. After a period of service, you will be offered a place in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's mandatory basic training, which comprises 8 weeks. You will also be trained in the use of OC spray. You will receive a salary throughout your entire training period. During your probationary period, ongoing assessments will be conducted to determine your suitability for a permanent position. Qualifications This role places high demands on personal suitability. As a correctional officer, you need to be confident, stable, have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. Together with your colleagues, you drive the operations, so you need to have good teamwork skills and be clear in your communication. It is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane perspective on people, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop and change. You need to be in good general physical condition to handle a sedentary job and to be able to act physically when required. We are looking for you who have: Complete upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant Work experience, including seasonal work, temporary employment, or self-employment.
