As a pharmacist at e-apoteket, there are three stations that all team members rotate through. The first is called regulatory and pharmacological review, where we pick up customer orders after they've been placed on the website and we look at the customer's complete medication list. Here we check things like dosages and drug interactions. Technical review is performed by e-pharmacists where we do pick verification, check the medication's shelf life in relation to usage time, apply dosage labels to packages, and forward the order to packing. There the order is packed in final packaging for the customer. For orders where some type of problem arises, there's a station we call manual handling. There the e-pharmacists investigate the order and help the customer with substitutions if an item is out of stock, for example. The e-pharmacists also contact prescribers if anything needs to be clarified regarding the customer's dosage. Since we don't have the customer physically in front of us, there's often a bit of extra time to focus on the pharmaceutical aspects in all parts of the process. Who are we who work at e-apoteket? The pharmacy department consists of about forty pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. We're a tight-knit group where everyone has different backgrounds in pharmacy, which means we have an incredible amount to learn from each other.
