The Ombudsman for Discrimination (DO) works toward a society free from discrimination and ensures that those who have experienced discrimination receive redress. DO is now seeking an assistant who wants to contribute to this important work. The Legal Unit The Legal Unit's main responsibility is to oversee compliance with the Discrimination Act. This oversight work is carried out primarily through investigating reports of discrimination. DO also has the right to act as a party in legal proceedings on behalf of individuals who have been subjected to discrimination. The unit's mandate also includes representing individuals disadvantaged in violation of, among other things, parental leave legislation. The Legal Unit currently consists of approximately 50 employees organized into five sections. The legal sections are staffed with section heads, unit assistants, investigation officers, investigators, and legal representatives. The sections are not specialized; instead, they work across all relevant areas of society and on all grounds of discrimination. Your Responsibilities Work as an assistant in the Legal Unit is largely event-driven and responds to various administrative support needs that arise within the unit. The main part of the work involves various administrative tasks related to case management, such as registering and processing reports, decisions, and other documents. Verbal and written contact with the public is also an important part of the role. You will also have contacts with other units at DO. Other common tasks include calendar management, booking meeting rooms, taking meeting minutes, and compiling statistical data for the unit's cases. Invoice processing and simple procurement are part of the work. Additionally, you may be responsible for the unit's physical or digital storage areas. You will also participate in other tasks within the unit, such as booking rooms for events or administering the unit's social arrangements. As a unit assistant, you will be part of an assistant team that collectively provides administrative support to the entire unit, the unit head, and the section heads. The work is coordinated by an administrative coordinator. In your role, you are responsible for keeping your knowledge of the unit's administrative procedures current. You will also participate in the development of the unit and its administrative processes. Requirements We are seeking you with Secondary school diploma or equivalent education A couple of years of current work experience handling cases or matters at a government agency or court, or alternatively a couple of years of other current work experience that DO deems equivalent Very strong Swedish language skills, both spoken and written Very strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. Temporary Assistant Position (~65%) for a 17-Year-Old Girl
We are looking for a female assistant for a temporary position with our client, a 17-year-old cheerful and lively girl with Cerebral Palsy. In her free time, she enjoys going out for coffee, swimming, and taking various trips. She has significant mobility difficulties and therefore needs several assistive devices such as ceiling lifts, standing aids, specially adapted chairs, and various communication aids. As an assistant, you will receive thorough on-the-job training to learn how to use these devices. As an assistant, you will support her in the activities she enjoys doing, both at home and outside the home. You will also accompany her on outings and visits to, for example, rehabilitation centers, orthotic centers, and assistive device centers. It is important that you are a positive, reliable, calm person who is solution-focused and driven. It is important that you have a driver's license and a car, as this is needed to get to where the client lives and because the client has an adapted car (automatic) that is used to drive her to medical appointments and recreational activities. We are looking for someone who can work various shifts: mornings, afternoons, evenings, and occasionally nights with on-call sleeping duties. Some days may involve split shifts where you work a morning shift and an afternoon/evening shift. Most of the time there is double assistance, but there are times when you work alone as an assistant. The schedule is a four-week rotating schedule. This is a temporary position for 2 months starting 2026-08-10 with the possibility of extension. On-the-job training will be provided through hourly employment before the position starts.
